Editorial Review for Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
Sharply dressed business people, old-fashioned cowboys and sports celebrities feast side by side. Dark wood dominates several intimate dining rooms. Del Frisco's prides itself on hand-cut aged prime beef, Australian lobster tails, creamy salad dressings and homemade desserts. Entrees feature huge cuts of beef on plates hot enough to overcook the meat. The tastiest choices are the tender filet mignon or seafood. Finish with dense, rich cheesecake or strawberries Romanov.

My wife and I had such a wonderful evening at Del Frisco's. Everything was perfect. The hostesses who greeted us were freindly and offered we have a drink at the bar before being seated. At the bar we were served promptly by an awsome bartender who recommended the pineapple martini, called the VIP. It was delicious. Our dinner was amazing! The apps (crab cake, king crab legs and shrimp) the dinner (bone-in filet and porterhouse) the sides (cream spinach, au grautin potatoes) were the best I have ever had, and I visit all the big steakhouses in every city I visit. The service was prompt and extremely attentive to every detail. The wine list was spectacular, so we asked for a sommelier. He was unpretentious, knowledgable and accepting of our budget. We had a half bottle of Billicart Champagne then moved on to the Ladera Cabernet, both exactly what we wanted. We were too full for dessert, so our server recommended the flight of port. It's 4 -1oz pours of tawny port 10year through 40 years of age. It was perfect (by the way, we took a cab home) After dinner we retired to the swanky cigar lounge behind the bar. There was a jazz trio playing all the standards as we relaxed on the sofas in front of the fireplace. I don't think there's anything else like this in Denver. I will be coming just for the music in the future on more casual evenings. If you go to Del Frisco's (which I obviously recommend highly) trust the staff to do what they do best..taking care of the guest
Pros: ambience, service, wine list, live music, great food

Service was poor. Salad was good. Portions were small. Ribeye was overcooked but we had waited so I said OK. There was so much salt and pepper on the steak that I tried to scrape it off. It did not help. We all gradually finished our meals and when the waiter asked if I want to take my nearly complete steak with me, I explained that it was too salty to eat. He offered another but I declined as the rest of the party was ready to go. Lacking in attention to detail and quality. The rest of the group never really commented on the food either. Seems very over rated.
